Modern Jazz Masterclass: The Bonus Solos

What’s it about?

In August 2022, Josh Meader visited the JTC studio to film his best-selling Modern Jazz Masterclass. For each solo, Josh recorded a variety of takes, and we’re unleashing two more from the JTC vaults.

Each solo comes with accurate tab/notation, as well as backings and study notes.

Two unreal solos packed with the kind of intense harmonic bravery we have come to expect from the virtuoso that continues to astound.

What will I learn?

You will learn how Josh Meader improvises on tracks that feature complex rhythmic ideas, and how he naturally incorporates techniques and theoretical approaches to do so.

This insight will show you how to use legato in a musical way, how to make the most of a variety of modes and how to harness the colour offered by outside sounds.

Throw in some 16th note quintuplets and some minor pentatonic, and you have some real-life application of a variety of ideas.
